About Us

Hero Packaging · Est. 2018

This Is Hero Packaging.

Created by Anaita and Vik, a husband and wife team from Sydney. We make Earth-saving, home-compostable, zero-waste packaging products that are also kinda cute. But don't let the cuteness fool you.

Our company is serious about making a difference. We've been around since mid-2018 and have supplied tens of millions of home compostable mailers globally. We're a Certified B Corporation, Carbon Neutral, and our products are certified compostable to the highest global standards.

The Origin Story

How Did It All Start?

  • 1
Hero was born from our first e-commerce retail business, where we were shipping 80–100 products a day in plastic. Seeing the waste we created horrified us — and we were just one business.
  • 2
We went to a retail sustainability conference and discovered incredible innovation — pineapple leather, hemp fabrics — but no eco-friendly solution for plastic shipping mailers. That gap became our mission.
  • 3
After testing a bazillion different materials, we found one that was compostable, waterproof, and super durable — performing like plastic in shipping, but breaking down in a compostable environment.
  • 4
We posted about it on social media and the response was phenomenal. So we put our business hats back on, visited our manufacturer, and developed the mailers you see today.
Our Philosophy

What Did We Learn Along the Way?

🌱 Sustainability is a journey

We've learned that sustainability is a journey, not a destination. We continue working hard to ensure our products and business practices are as sustainable as possible.

💬 Education matters

We've learned the importance of educating customers on how to correctly dispose of our products so they end up in compost — not landfill.

🏆 Our goal

We didn't solve the plastic problem — but we did find a great replacement for single-use plastic mailers. Our goal is to keep pushing boundaries and make it easier for businesses everywhere to make the switch to sustainable packaging.
