HEROLABEL FAQs

Which HEROLABEL do I need?

Label Size Format Printer
Shipping label roll (Standard or Express Post design) 100 x 149mm 250 per roll, perforated Direct thermal
Circle sticker roll (white or pink) 4cm or 6cm 800 (4cm) or 600 (6cm) per roll Direct thermal
Rectangle label roll 5 x 3.5cm 1,000 per roll, perforated Direct thermal
A4 circle branding labels 6.25cm 5 sheets x 12 (60 labels) Inkjet or laser
A4 rectangle shipping labels approx. 9.4 x 11.9cm 10 sheets x 4 (40 labels) Inkjet or laser

Are HEROLABELs compostable?

Yes. The labels and their adhesive are compostable, so customers don’t need to peel them off before composting the mailer. Roll labels carry small “COMPOSTABLE HEROLABEL” text so customers know.

Is the backing paper compostable or recyclable?

No, not in a standard bin. The backing has a thin silicone coating that lets labels peel off, so it isn’t compostable and needs a specialised recycling process. We don’t currently run a return program for backing paper.

Which printers work with HEROLABEL rolls?

The Hero Printer and any direct thermal printer that handles labels 100mm wide or more and takes rolls with a 40mm core without extra fixtures. They are not compatible with Dymo 4XL printers, which only accept Dymo-branded labels.

Can I print international shipping labels on the rolls?

International Express labels can generally be printed on A6 (100 x 150mm) labels like HEROLABEL rolls. Australia Post requires economy and standard international labels to be printed on A4. Check that your shipping platform supports A6 international labels before relying on it.

What is the Express Post design?

An Express Post version of our shipping label roll, so you no longer need plastic Express Post tape on your parcels.

Why don’t they stick as strongly as plastic labels?

The compostable adhesive is non-toxic and safe for composting, so it’s less aggressive than conventional label glue. HEROLABELs are designed and tested on flat HEROPACK mailers. For best results, apply the label to the mailer on a flat surface before packing and press firmly, especially at the edges and corners.

Will they stick to cardboard boxes?

Some cartons have uneven surfaces, so trial one roll on your boxes before ordering in bulk. Composticky Tape also sticks to cardboard, metal and glass.

Why do newer rolls look shinier?

The latest rolls have a slightly shinier finish that improves direct thermal print quality. They’re still fully compostable, and the upgraded adhesive sticks better to most surfaces.

How do I print my logo on circle or rectangle roll labels?

Use our Canva or Word templates (linked on each product page). Keep your artwork within the label shape, hide the outline before printing, and load the correct roll. Direct thermal printers print in black only: white labels print black and pink labels print grey.

How do I print the A4 sheets?

Use the template on the product page, remove the outlines and page border, set your printer to A4 at 100% scale, then print on an inkjet or laser printer. The A4 circle labels can also be ordered with your logo pre-printed.
